A Beautiful Lenten Tradition-All Are Welcome
The Shadow Stations of the Cross will be presented by our 5-8 Campus Ministry Students, along with a Light Show Reflection by Grade 5. This will take place in the High School Division auditorium on April 16 at 6:30 P.M. This presentation is a beautiful Lenten tradition that provides an opportunity for us to reflect on the Passion and death of our Lord. All students and their families are invited to attend. From the Health Offices:
It is time for our annual Health Screenings. In the weeks following the April vacation, until the end of the school year, our School Nurses will conduct various health screenings as required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  If screening results indicate the need for follow-up care by a physician, parents/guardians will be notified.

As with all health screenings, you or your child may opt out. If you would like to opt out of one or more of these screenings, please email or call the school nurse no later than April 28th.

The schedule of the screenings at St. John Paul II School is as follows:
Entire Prep division: Postural (Scoliosis)
6th Grade: Vision and Hearing
9th Grade: Vision, Hearing, and Postural (Scoliosis)
10th Grade:  Body Mass Index (BMI) and SBIRT screening- SBIRT stands for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. SBIRT is used to screen for alcohol, nicotine, tobacco, and other drug use. SBIRT screening will be done using the CRAFFT screening tool (contact Allison McLeod or Ellen Byrd for questions). 

Financial Assistance for the 2025-2026 School Year
The online application for financial assistance for the 2025-2026 school year is open. To be considered for financial assistance, you must complete an application each year with FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Mrs. Keras, Student Accounts Coordinator, at mkeras@JPIIHyannis.org.

The Knights of Columbus, Council 13388, of Christ the King Parish Catholic High School Scholarship.
This scholarship is open to students entering grades 9-12 at St. John Paul II School who are active members of Christ the King parish, have a strong academic record and a demonstrated financial need. Additionally, applicants must receive a letter of recommendation from the pastor. Students should work with Michael Wahle, Admissions Director at St. John Paul II School to apply for the scholarship. Email Mr. Wahle at mwahle@JPIIHyannis.org for more information. The final award selection will be made by the Knights of Columbus. Deadline for application is April 17.

Game of the Week is BACK!
This week’s Game of the Week is on Saturday, April 19 at 11 A.M. Come watch the JPII Lions men’s baseball team play Archbishop Williams at McKeon Park.

A reminder to purchase your yearbook!
Please purchase a yearbook for your child(ren) and design your two free custom pages before it’s too late. Click here to purchase. Once a yearbook is purchased, the website will walk you through how to customize your free pages, and/or purchase ads to appear in ALL yearbooks. Questions? Please email dsiscoe@jpiihyannis.org. All yearbook orders must be made by May 1.

Earth Day Service Opportunity
Sophie Jansen is helping the Osterville library in organizing a trash cleanup for Earth Day and Osterville. For those students and families who are around during April vacation and want some service hours, please see the attached flyer and help come clean up Osterville village!

Uniform Update!
Don’t forget that when we return from April vacation students are allowed to wear the school polo shirt as an alternative to the button down. Take this time to make sure that your polos are still in good shape-it will be warm soon!

Juniors, Seniors and their guests are invited to The JPII Golden Gala Prom
This year the prom will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 6:00-10:00 P.M. at The Club at New Seabury, 95 Shore Drive West, Mashpee MA.

Invitations/RSVP with QR code will be sent via US Mail to JPII students
Guest forms available in the main office and due: April 29 RSVP deadline: April 29

Payment: $90 per person due by May 2 (cash or check to the main office)

Class of 2026: Show your JPII Spirit at  Fenway Park on June 9 
Come see the Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Sales will begin Monday, April 14th during lunch. Transportation via school bus will be provided at no additional cost. We will leave the JPII parking lot promptly at  3:30pm and will return after 11:00 P.M.

Payment: $40 per person (cash or check to the main office)
RSVP deadline WITH payment is Monday, May 12, 2025

Children’s Cove to visit during lunch on April 28
Team members from Children’s Cove will be joining us at the high school on Monday, April 28th during both lunches to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Learn more HERE
