Request for Help from AP Environmental Science Students

The AP Environmental Science students will be working with community partners to construct a floating planted island to filter pollutants out of Barnstable Land Trust’s Eagle Pond. This is a huge opportunity for students to be involved in citizen science and take action against water pollution that leads to harmful algal blooms.

Thank you for your generosity so far! We are still asking members of our community to donate the following items:

 -Fisherman’s netting (10×10 or larger)
-Corks (7,000-8,000) So far, we have received 1,904 corks! Thank you for the tremendous response! Only 5,096 to go!!

If you are a JPII community member with access to any of these materials in any quantity to donate, please reach out to Shannon Gilliland (sgilliland@jpiihyannis.org). We are hoping to have all the materials we need to start our project at the end of the month. Thank you!
