Fall Fest is September 26
The one and only fall fundraiser for St. John Paul II School is scheduled for Saturday, September 26 at 4:30 PM at Naukabout Brewery. Please join us in supporting the programs at JPII while enjoying a relaxed evening of fun and friendship. Sponsorships and tickets are now available. Click HERE.

Opening Mass is Tuesday, September 15
Families are invited to attend opening Mass with us on Tuesday, September 15 at St. Francis Xavier Parish at 10:00 AM. Come pray for our school community with us.

Transportation Information
Cape Cod RTA:
The Cape Cod RTA buses will begin on September 8.

Pick Up and Drop off Procedures:
Thank you for your patience during this first week of school while we wait for all of the bus routes to begin. Please follow the published pick up and drop off procedures designed in conjunction with the Barnstable Police Department for the safety of our children, faculty and staff.

We are already dreaming of a White Christmas
Auditions for Irving Berlin’s White Christmas will be held this week! Auditions will take place in the JPII Auditorium on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10. Grades 5-12 are welcome to audition. For more information, please click HERE. The performance will be held the weekend of November 20. 

Grandparents Day is October 23: Photographers Needed
On Friday, October 23, 2026 we will be celebrating Grandparents and Special Friends at St. John Paul II School with a breakfast reception in both buildings followed by Mass celebrated by Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V. 

We are looking for FIVE photographers willing to share an hour or two of their time to help us commemorate this special day. You do not need to be a professional! Please reach out to Kasey Boyle to volunteer or for more details.

Admissions Open House is Sunday, October 25, 2026
Admissions season is upon us, and our families are the best advertisement for the school! If you know of anyone interested in joining the JPII community, please invite them to attend our fall Open House on Sunday, October 25 from 1:00-3:00 in the Preparatory building and 2:00-4:00 in the High School building. If you are thinking about volunteering during the 2026-2027 school year and have not done your CORI forms or the Diocesan safety certification, consider taking care of those details now. There are many opportunities to help throughout the year! For instructions and links to the forms, click HERE. Used Uniforms and School Books
Please consider donating your gently used uniforms! Drop your donations of school required reading books and gently used uniforms (clean, without stains or rips) in the main office of either building during school hours. 

Food Service Worker at JPII-High School Division: Employment Opportunity
Whitsons Culinary Group, a school food management company, is looking to hire a Food Service Worker for JPII’s breakfast/lunch program starting Fall 2026..  This could be a great opportunity for a member of our school community! 

Responsibilities include:

• Serve meals to students
• Ensuring food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
• Sorting and storing ingredients. 
• Food preparation: washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and light cooking 

Hours:  Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. (follows school schedule – no weekends, holidays, and school vacations).

Previous food service experience and ServSafe certification is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.

Great pay and benefits available.

Prior to start of employment, individual must complete the Essential Three as directed by the Diocese of Fall River Office for Safe Environment (Criminal Background Check, Safe Environment Training, and Code of Conduct).

Aftercare and Study Hall
Please note that Aftercare and Study Hall will begin on Wednesday, September 9. 

Home and School Association Meeting
The first meeting of the Preparatory Division Home and School Association parent organization (HSA) will be on Tuesday, September 8. These meetings are held via Zoom at 6:30 PM. The mission of the HSA is to enhance the Catholic family spirit while promoting a community atmosphere through special events for students and families throughout the school year (family bingo, games night, dances, cultural enrichment, Catholic Schools Week activities, etc.). Grade 5 Games Night is Friday, September 11

Grade 6-8 Welcome Back Dance is Friday, September 18
The first dance of the year for students in grades 6-8 will be on Friday, September 11 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the JPII Gym. For more information about the dance, please see the flyer HERE.

Preparatory Division Photos will be September 10
ALL students will have their photos taken in their uniforms on Thursday, September 10. Grade 8 will have a separate day for outdoor photos on September 28. For more information about the day and how ordering prints will work, please click the link HERE.

Lunch Volunteers Needed
Do you have an hour to spare during the week? The Prep Division needs help filling the lunch bins at the High School and then distributing lunches to students at the Prep. It is quick and easy! We are looking for help every day from approximately 11:00-12:15. There is also opportunity after lunch for parents to stay and give teachers a break during the X-Block period.  Please note that all volunteers must be CORI cleared by the Diocese of Fall River prior to volunteering.

Seniors and their parents are welcome to attend this informative guidance meeting discussing the path ahead on Wednesday, September 16 from 7:00-8:30 PM in the High School ARC. Plan for college applications, SATs, and more with Mr. Tanguay and learn what to expect as your student navigates the college process.
