St. John Paul II School’s fifth grade students recently had the opportunity to share what they learned during their field trip to the Pleasant Bay Boating Community at the Friends of Pleasant Bay Annual Meeting.
The presentation followed the students’ field trip on May 27, 2026, which was fully funded through a grant from the Friends of Pleasant Bay. The grant allowed every fifth grade student to participate in the outdoor learning experience at no cost to their family.
During the field trip, students explored the ecology of Pleasant Bay while participating in an outdoor learning day filled with activities focused on teamwork and local marine science.
At the Friends of Pleasant Bay Annual Meeting on July 13, students had the opportunity to display informational presentation boards highlighting their field trip experience. The displays included photos from the day and gave students the opportunity to share what they learned with members of the organization.
“Experiences like this help students make meaningful connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them,” said Ms. Paula Daly, Assistant Head of School-Preparatory Division, “We are grateful to the Friends of Pleasant Bay for providing every fifth grade student with the opportunity to participate in this valuable educational experience.”
The Friends of Pleasant Bay is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving one of Cape Cod’s most important ecological and recreational resources while supporting environmental education through community outreach and educational grants.
