St. John Paul II High School has named former assistant coach and current JPII Girls Hockey Coach George Killian as its new Boys Varsity soccer head coach, effective immediately.
“I am very excited for Coach Killian to take over the Boys Soccer program. He is a true asset to the JPII community and positive role model to all JPII students in the classroom, on the ice and now on the pitch.” said Athletic Director Rich Fazzi.
Coach George Killian has served as a soccer coach for four years at various levels. Coach Killian has served as a middle school coach, High School Junior Varsity head coach, and assistant coach of the Girls Varsity program at Archbishop Williams High School, where they appeared in the 2017 State Championship game. Coach Killian is looking forward to a great season and is eager to help establish a strong program at St. John Paul II High School.

I know this school has student-athletes that are competitive, determined, and eagerly serve their community. No matter what this season looks like, I am excited to help build this program for a bright future.
“Coach Killian brings a sincere Christian faith, and the desire to make our student-athletes better persons. It is apparent that his soccer knowledge is present but his focus on building young men of character, compassion and conscience is a great fit for St. John Paul II High School,“, stated Principal, Mona Lisa Valentino.
George Killian received his undergraduate degree from Providence College and his Masters in Education as part of the PACT Program (Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers.)
