Michael Young, a Mashpee native and St. John Paul II High School graduate, earned a six-out save in his Cape League debut, and Trey Jacobs (North Carolina Pembroke) knocked in the go-ahead run with a two-out single in the seventh inning as the Cotuit Kettleers won, 5-4, over the Falmouth Commodores in the regular-season finale for both playoff-bound teams at Lowell Park in Cotuit.
Young (Stonehill College) signed with Cotuit before Thursday’s game, striking out the side in the ninth to shut down the Commodores.
