Campus Ministry Preps for Coming Year

2016 Ecuador Service Program

A most blessed Easter to all! We are indeed Easter people and Alleluia is our song as we joyfully enter into the final weeks of the academic year. Campus Ministry is reflecting on what we have accomplished this year and we have begun readying ourselves for next year by initiating the application process for both Retreat Leaders and next November’s mission trip to Ecuador.

Recently, current Retreat Leaders put together five weekly prayer services for the season of Lent. The services included antiphonal prayers which encouraged participation of the entire student body, Gospel readings, thoughtful personal reflections, and meditative music selections.

We are currently in the process of distributing and accepting applications for next year’s group of Retreat Leaders. As an essential part of our ministry, these upperclassmen will be responsible for fostering the continued spiritual growth of our school community. Not only are they integral to the practicalities of the retreat program, but they are also models of faith and servant leadership for their classmates.

In addition to the ongoing search for next year’s Retreat Leaders, we also have many students discerning their call to serve in an entirely different way and in an entirely different place. The annual mission trip to serve with Rostro de Cristo in Arbolito, Ecuador is in its early planning stages. After completing an in-depth preparation process of prayer and reflection on the virtue of service, students who go on the trip will spend a week working with the volunteers of Rostro de Cristo in helping the poor population of Arbolito and its surrounding communities

We ask for your prayers for the students who are contemplating both of these ministries. The commitment and responsibility required for each of them is a tall order and we must rely on our faith and your prayers for the students that they open their hearts to the Lord’s call to service, and for us all, that we may be blessed with strong leaders to ensure a fruitful year of spiritual growth for all members of our school community.
