The Pathways Approach Program

The Pathways Approach Program is built on the fundamental belief that every child can learn. Students with learning differences and their families deserve access to Catholic education with full support for their student’s unique learning needs. The S.E.A.L. Foundations Pathways Approach Program at St. John Paul II School is rooted in the Church’s mission to serve a diverse population and the conviction that education should be accessible to all children.  The program allows us to more fully implement our mission: to welcome students and their families and to empower all students to recognize their God-given gifts and develop their potential.

Offering students the services, accommodations, and modifications they need to help them reach their full potential.

Services

The Pathways Approach Program students are fully integrated into the fabric of St. John Paul II School. They participate in all aspects of school life, including art, music, dance, physical education class, performing arts, lunch, and X-Block clubs and events. After school, they may participate in sports and all other extracurricular activities.

The Pathways Approach Program includes small classes in their areas of need and instruction from special education teachers. Given this specialized support, we see that students flourish and excel in learning and prepare for a life of faith, integrity, knowledge, and service.

Our specialized instruction classes are based on the St. John Paul II School curriculum. The Pathways Approach Program classes are graded according to our regular grading system. Detailed progress reports will also be sent home with grades.

The Pathways Approach Program is designed for students with dyslexia, executive functioning, dysgraphia, language processing or written expression disabilities, dyscalculia, and non-verbal learning differences. The Pathways Approach Program does not have the resources to help students with complex learning profiles.
