Grandparents and Special Friends Day is Oct. 23

On Friday, October 23, 2026 we will be celebrating Grandparents and Special Friends at St. John Paul II School with a breakfast reception in both buildings, followed by Mass celebrated by Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V. at St. Francis Xavier Church.

Dismissal on October 23 will be at 11:24 AM.

We hope that your grandparent or special friend can attend. Please RSVP HERE and let us know who will be coming!

 Admissions Open House is NEXT Sunday

Admissions season is upon us, and our families are the best advertisement for the school! If you know of anyone interested in joining the JPII community, please invite them to attend our fall Open House on Sunday, October 25 from 1:00-3:00 in the Preparatory building and 2:00-4:00 in the High School building.

Volunteer Opportunities
Parent Partnership is looking for help with October events. There are multiple opportunities to help at Grandparents Day, and Safe Trick-or-Treat. If you are a CORI’d volunteer, please take a look at the different tasks, days and times and sign up to help us make these events a success. The SignUpGenius can be found HERE.

Please click HERE for information on completing the required volunteer paperwork. Once the paperwork is completed, you will be eligible to sign up for volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. Please note that the paperwork is valid for three years.

JPII Emergency Classroom Go-Bucket Eagle Scout Project 
Senior Zach Jones, is creating emergency go-buckets for the classrooms and staff areas in both buildings of the St. John Paul II School campus as part of his Eagle Scout project. To help stock these vital safety kits in the event of a shelter-in-place, we are asking school families to donate a few small comfort items and necessities to keep students equipped and occupied, such as decks of standard playing cards, UNO, travel puzzle books, mini stress balls, pocket tissues, Ziploc bags, and bags of individually wrapped Lifesaver mints or hard candies. Thank you for supporting Zach’s project and keeping our JPII school community safe and prepared! 

32nd Annual FACE Fall Scholarship Dinner is Nov. 10
The 32nd Annual FACE Fall Scholarship dinner will be held on Tuesday, November 10 at White’s of Westport. The evening will feature guest speaker Father Kenneth R. Sicard, O.P., President of Providence College. More information can be found HERE.

Grades 6-8 Halloween Dance is October 30
The Halloween Dance for Grades 6-8 will be held on Friday, October 30 from 7:00-9:00 PM. We could use your help making this a fun event for all of the kids. Please click HERE to view the flyer and sign up to help. Please also review important costume information.

Lunch Volunteers Needed
Do you have an hour to spare during the week? The Prep Division needs help  distributing lunches to students. It is quick and easy! We are looking for help every day from approximately 11:00-12:15. There is also an opportunity after lunch for parents to stay and give teachers a break during the X-Block period. Please note that all volunteers must be CORI cleared by the Diocese of Fall River prior to volunteering.

Dress Code Changes 
Don’t forget that the dress code has changed to the JPII button downs with the optional quarter zip or JPII sweater. The polo is to be put away until after April vacation. The optional quarter-zip pullover with the school logo for grades 9-12 only can be purchased at the Roar Store or ordered online here.

PSAT/SAT Test Day is Wednesday, October 21
Be sure to be well rested and have a fully charged laptop with you on October 21 for the PSAT/SAT test day. This is a full day of school.
