SAL Day Reminder
With the impending weather for Monday, please review the attached document about our Structured Alternative Learning (SAL) day process.  In cases of inclement weather when school would normally be canceled, but when power outages are not prevalent, the administration may declare a SAL day. Catholic Schools Week is January 25 through 31
National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The week starts with our students attending Mass at their home Parish with their families on Sunday, January 25th in uniform and continues with additional events and activities held throughout the week. See specific grade level sections for a complete list of activities for the week.

Community Mass with St. Pius X School on January 26
Students will kick off Catholic Schools Week with a community Mass at St. Pius X Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 26. Buses will take the students to and from the Mass. Please be in full uniform, with sweaters for high school division students.

You are invited to a Volunteer Appreciation Reception!
Volunteers are a vital part of our community, and we are grateful for the parents, families, and friends who generously give their time to enrich the JPII experience for our students. In appreciation of your dedication and support, please join us for a special reception in the ARC during Catholic Schools Week and enjoy coffee on us. We look forward to celebrating you! A Message from the Admissions Office
JPII offers continuous enrollment, so you do not need to fill out a new application to re-enroll for next year. All you need to do is submit your Online Information Update between the end of the current school year and the start of the 2026-2027 school year.  The Online Information Update packet will be emailed to you in the coming months.We ask that current 8th grade students who intend to continue onto the High School Division next year complete the additional step of filling out and submitting our Intent to Continue form.

Financial Assistance for the 2026-2027  School Year
The online application for financial assistance for the 2026-2027 school year is open. To be considered for financial assistance, you must complete an application each year with FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Mrs. Keras, Student Accounts Coordinator, at mkeras@JPIIHyannis.org.

Save The Date: High School Guidance Overview Night 
Preparatory Families in grades 7 and 8 are invited to a High School Guidance Overview Night on Wednesday, January 28 at 6 PM in the ARC at the High School as an introduction to the services provided by our guidance department. Beginning in Grade 9, the JPII Guidance Department provides a comprehensive, personalized approach to college and career preparation. From academic planning to college exploration and application guidance, our program is built to give families a clear roadmap for what comes next. Don’t miss your chance to come learn more! Despite the cold weather, we still go outside
Winter is here and temperatures have dropped, we want to ensure the well-being and comfort of our students during recess. With that in mind, please remind your child to bring their hats and coats to school.

Lunch Volunteers Needed – Preparatory Division
Do you have an hour to come to school and help with the lunch program? Volunteers are needed at the Preparatory Division to assist 11:00 to 12:00. Click HERE to sign up. It can be one hour a month or one hour a week, whatever fits your schedule!

Help Us Celebrate Our Teachers
On Friday, January 30 we will celebrate our teachers by bringing in lunch. In order to allow for an opportunity to take a little break in their daily routine, we are looking for a few volunteers to cover an XBlock period between 11:30-12:30. If you can volunteer an hour of your day on Friday, please take a moment and sign up HERE.

Anything But A Backpack on January 27
The National Honor Society is hosting an “Anything But A Backpack” drive for School On Wheels as part of Catholic Schools Week. On Tuesday, January 26 any student that donates a backpack for School on Wheels is eligible to bring in anything BUT a backpack for their own personal use at school For more details on the program and how it works, please click HERE.

JPII Science and Engineering Fair is Feb. 10, 2026
The annual JPII Science and Engineering Fair will be held on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026. Student scientists will present their independent research projects from 5-6:30 pm, with a short awards ceremony following. This event is mandatory for all CP and Pre-AP Biology students, but all are welcome to attend.

Guidance appointments on Wednesdays throughout the semester are available on the Sign-Up Genius located HERE.

The next Guidance Night will be a virtual presentation on the scheduling process at St. John Paul II School  on February 4 from 7:00-8:00 PM.
