Grandparents and Special Friends Day is Oct. 23: 
On Friday, October 23, 2026 we will be celebrating Grandparents and Special Friends at St. John Paul II School with a breakfast reception in both buildings followed by Mass celebrated by Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V. 

Dismissal on October 23 will be at 11:24 AM.

We hope that your grandparent or special friend can attend. Please RSVP HERE and let us know who will be coming!

Transportation Update:
Wednesday, October 7, there will be no afternoon Barnstable buses. 

Parent Teacher Conferences are October 15
Conferences will be held at both the Preparatory and High School Divisions between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Please arrive no earlier than 2:00 PM and no later than 5:45 PM.

There are no appointments necessary; simply stop by and speak with your child’s teachers. To ensure that all families can visit with teachers, we will strive to keep conferences to five minutes. For families of 8th grade students who take classes at the high school, those teachers will be available in the high school building during the same hours.

Admissions Open House is Sunday, October 25, 2026
Admissions season is upon us, and our families are the best advertisement for the school! If you know of anyone interested in joining the JPII community, please invite them to attend our fall Open House on Sunday, October 25 from 1:00-3:00 in the Preparatory building and 2:00-4:00 in the High School building. Parent Partnership is October 7
The next Parent Partnership meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 at 8:15 AM in the ARC. Please take a moment to RSVP HERE. If you are interested in taking part, but can’t make the meeting, please simply respond with a “NO” and we will add you to the email distribution list. There are often opportunities that can be accomplished outside of the meeting hours!

Homecoming Game is Saturday, October 17
Please plan on attending our homecoming volleyball match-up against Nauset High School at JPII! Kick off is at 10:00 AM with food trucks, JV game at 11:00 and Varsity at 12:00. This is the volleyball senior recognition match as well We will have o BBQ, Press Ahead Coffee, Aundria’s Kitchen, and Kal’s ice cream on-site selling snacks, coffee, and delicious food! Come watch the game and grab some lunch (or breakfast) while you are at it! All are welcome to come share their Lion Pride! For our flyer, click HERE! 

32nd Annual FACE Fall Scholarship Dinner is Nov. 10
The 32nd Annual FACE Fall Scholarship dinner will be held on Tuesday, November 10 at White’s of Westport. The evening will feature guest speaker Father Kenneth R. Sicard, O.P., President of Providence College. More information can be found HERE.

Join the Lions Den! Volunteer at JPII
If you are thinking about volunteering during the 2026-2027 school year and have not done your CORI forms or the Diocesan safety certification, consider taking care of those details now. There are many opportunities to help throughout the year! For instructions and links to the forms, click HERE. Used Uniforms and School Books
Please consider donating your gently used uniforms! Drop your donations of school required reading books and gently used uniforms (clean, without stains or rips) in the main office of either building during school hours.

Gr. 8 Outdoor Photos RESCHEDULED
Due to inclement weather, the 8th grade outdoor portraits for Monday will be rescheduled to Friday, October 16, 2026. Please have your students arrive on Monday in uniform.

Lunch Volunteers Needed
Do you have an hour to spare during the week? The Prep Division needs help  distributing lunches to students. It is quick and easy! We are looking for help every day from approximately 11:00-12:15. There is also opportunity after lunch for parents to stay and give teachers a break during the X-Block period. Please note that all volunteers must be CORI cleared by the Diocese of Fall River prior to volunteering.

On Wednesday, September 30 at 7:00 PM Mr. Tanguay will be hosting the next in his Guidance Night series: “Understanding the Common App.” This is intended for Junior and Senior parents interested in learning more about how to navigate the Common App so you are ready when application deadlines start coming. Prepare ahead and reduce the stress!
