Thanksgiving Food Drive
We are so grateful for the generosity of our students and families during the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society food drive. The NJHS at the Prep collected over 1500 items for the St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry and the National Honor Society was not far behind. All of this comes at a time when the food pantry had to make the difficult decision to limit the items a family could take due to high volumes and a shortage of available food. We thank all of you who shared kindness over this past week and helped our neighbors in need.

Join us In Worship. All are Welcome
Mass will be celebrated on Monday and Wednesday at 7:30 A.M. in the Our Lady of Fatima Chapel at the High School. Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered on Tuesday after school. Morning prayer will be on Thursday morning.

High School Winter Sports Meeting
The winter sports meeting will be held on Monday, November 25th at 6:00 P.M. in the JPII High School Auditorium. All students interested in playing on a winter sports team must attend with a parent. This also includes 7th and 8th grade students. Families unable to attend should contact Athletic Director Mike Young: myoung@jpiihyannis.org.

Barnstable Substance Abuse Forum-December 3, 5:30 – 7:30 P.M.
The annual Substance Abuse Forum educates parents on the dangers of substances, how these products specifically target children, and the common substances seen used in children today. A speaker will be there to discuss effective ways to communicate with your child if you believe there is a substance abuse issue in your home and the Town of Barnstable Police Department School Resource Officers will also be presenting. The Hidden In Plane Sight Trailer from the Barnstable Police Department will also be present. View the flyer here.

Student of the Week
Our students of the week are JPII Lions who Communicate Christ in word and deed. Occasionally, there are moments when a specific student will demonstrate a commitment to excellence that stands out. This student exemplifies the spirit of St. John Paul II School by doing the little things, inspiring others, being one in body, a good neighbor and being safe in words and actions. Each week, a student is nominated by the faculty to receive recognition as the Student of the Week. They were all recognized at our Honors Assembly last week. Please click here to see who received this honor during the first quarter.

Lunch Volunteers Still Needed
We could still use volunteers to assist with the lunch program. Please sign up HERE. It can be once a week, once a month, whatever works!
