Parent Partnership Meeting: Wednesday, August 27 at 8:15 AM
The Parent Partnership is a group dedicated to uniting the school as a comprehensive grades 5-12 experience. The goal of the Parent Partnership is to grow the sense of community at JPII through fostering parent involvement. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 27 at 8:15 AM in the ARC at the high school. This is open to parents and guardians of all students, regardless of grade level. Please RSVP HERE if you will be attending.
Food Service Worker (at JPII) Employment Opportunity
The Abbey Group, a school food management company, is looking to hire a School Food Service Worker for the lunch program at our school. This could be a great opportunity for a member of our school community!
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
- Sorting and storing ingredients.
- Food preparation: washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and light cooking
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 A.M. – 1:15 P.M. (follows school schedule – no weekends, holidays, and school vacations).

Used Uniform Donations
If you have current JPII uniform items that are in good, clean (non-stained or ripped) condition that you no longer need, please donate them to the school store.
Your items can be dropped off in the main office at either the Preparatory Division or the High School Division Tuesday through Thursday between 9:00-1:00. Please clearly mark them as school store donations.
Breakfast and Lunch Available to All Students
St. John Paul II School offers a free breakfast and lunch program through the Abbey Group and Barnstable Public Schools. Students enrolled at St. John Paul II School are entitled to one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day. Transportation Information
Barnstable Buses:
There will be NO Barnstable buses on August 26. They will begin on August 27.
Cape Cod RTA:
The Cape Cod RTA buses will begin on September 2.
Over the Bridge Bus Registration:
If you have not already done so, please click here to register for the Over the Bridge Bus for the 2025-2026 school year. Daily pick up/drop off is at one of three stops in Bourne, Plymouth, and Buzzards Bay with travel directly to St. John Paul II School in Hyannis.
If you have already registered, please watch the mail for your child’s 2025-2026 bus pass. If you have any questions please contact Danielle Siscoe, dsiscoe@jpiihyannis.org.
Announcement from FACTS
Beginning September 1, 2025, the fee for credit card transactions via FACTS will move to 3.05%. This slight change reflects the rising costs imposed by credit card companies and ensures FACTS can continue to offer convenient payment options while maintaining the quality of their services. Please note that this fee is charged by FACTS and not collected by JPII. As always, alternative payment methods, such as ACH, are available at no additional cost. School Store
New hours at the school store beginning Tuesday, August 26! The store will be open every day during XBlocks and Monday through Thursday from 2:45-3:30. Stop by and check it out!

Important Calendars for the month:
Welcome Back Breakfast for Parents and Guardians
Come to the HSA sponsored welcome back breakfast on the first day of school after drop off. Reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones after you see your child off in the gymnasium! All are welcome and encouraged to drop by!

Preparatory Division Fall Sports Meeting
On Wednesday, August 27 there will be a meeting for students in grades 5-8 interested in a fall sport at the Preparatory Division. This meeting will be held in the high school auditorium from 5:00-6:00 and one parent/guardian MUST attend with their athlete.
Lunch Volunteers Needed – Preparatory Division
Do you have an hour to come to school and help with the lunch program? Volunteers are needed at the Preparatory Division to assist 11:00-12:00. Click HERE to sign up. It can be one hour a month or one hour a week, whatever fits your schedule!
Grade 5 Games Night is Friday, September 5
Take advantage of this opportunity to get to know other classmates by attending Games Night in the JPII gym on Friday, September 5 from 6:30-8:30 PM. Please see the informational flyer HERE
Grades 6-8 Back to School Dance: Friday, September 12
The first dance of the year for students in grades 6-8 will be on Friday, September 12 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the JPII Gym. Many hands make light work, if you can volunteer to help make this a fun event for our students, please sign up using the link HERE.

GR 9 – 12 INFORMATION
Coffee with Miss Val
Please join us on Friday, September 5 in the ARC to kick off the school year with Miss Val. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend. It’s a great chance to get to know one another.
Senior Retreats will be held on September 9 and 11
The class of 2026 will have their Senior Retreat on either September 9 or September 11. Students will be asked to rank their retreat preferences and we will do our best to match students with their preferred retreat. Please be on the lookout for the permission slip coming soon.
This year there will be four options:
Sandy Neck Beach Hiking (Sept. 9)
Way of Falmouth (Sept. 9)
Biking Retreat on the Cape Cod Rail Trail beginning in Orleans (Sept. 11)
Art Retreat at Heritage Gardens (Sept. 11)
