Students of the Week- Second Quarter
On Wednesday, Feb 2 we celebrated the students of the week for the second quarter.  These students truly embody what it means to “Live the Lion Life”. Each day, they put our shared values into action—leading with integrity, lifting up others, and showing pride in their school community. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the hallways, these students set the tone through their kindness, work ethic, and faith-filled leadership. They don’t just wear the Lion name—they live it, inspiring those around them to be their best and reminding us all what it means to be part of this incredible community.

Second Annual Book Drive to Support Seaside Pediatrics in Yarmouth
Sophomore Liam Dunton is once again leading this important book drive. Please help by donating multilingual books and bring the gift of reading to all children in our diverse community. Seaside Pediatrics is in need of children’s books in Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole.  These books are given to children, infants to 12-year-olds, during their annual physicals. Let’s help to ensure that every child has access to books they can enjoy and understand.  Some suggested retailers of these books: Bookshop.org, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.  Bring new or gently used books to the Main Office, on or before Tuesday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day). Let’s make this St. Patrick’s Day, a day to celebrate not only Irish heritage but also the beauty of other cultures and learning in our community. To view the flyer, click HERE.

Independence House at JPII on Feb 24
On Tuesday, February 24th during lunch blocks, counselors from Independence House will be visiting the High School to raise awareness for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. To view the flyer, please click HERE.

Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month aims to raise awareness about the prevalence of dating violence among adolescents (ages 13-17) and to educate communities on how to prevent it. Independence House promotes healthy relationships, and their teen program and services help to empower teens to speak out and access the support they need to break free from unhealthy and abusive relationships, in addition to understanding how to support their peers who may need assistance.

If you have specific questions/concerns about this event, please reach out to our school adjustment counselor, Ms. McLeod at amcleod@jpiihyannis.org, thank you!
