Following an extensive search, St. John Paul II High School & St. Francis Xavier Preparatory School has named Richard Fazzi as Athletic Director, effective on July 1, 2019. Currently, Mr. Fazzi is the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Newbury College and has previously served as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Coach at Pine Manor College and Head Coach at Dean College.
Mr. Fazzi succeeds Mr. Mark Santos, who has served as Baseball Head Coach and Athletic Director in his tenure at the school.
Additionally, Coach Fazzi will also oversee the middle school athletics program at St. Francis Xavier Preparatory School (Grades 5-8), which operates as one school with St. John Paul II High School (Grades 9-12) and St. Margaret Regional School (Pre K-4).
“Coach Fazzi brings passion, experience, and vision to his new duties. He has a wide variety of athletic leadership experiences from which to draw as he leads the program. Moreover, his energy and commitment will be a great fit for our students and coaching staff,” said Mr. Christopher Keavy, school President.
Mr. Fazzi graduated from Paul VI High School (NJ), received a B.S. in Business Management from Becker College and an M.S. in Sports Management and Leadership from Lasell College.
“I’m eager to get started and build on the great foundation laid by Coach Santos. This is an exciting opportunity to use my collegiate experiences to benefit high school and middle school student-athletes. Furthermore, my Catholic faith is a central part of my personal life, and as we raise our family, I find myself seeking opportunities to grow in faith and share it,” Mr. Fazzi said.
Mr. Fazzi lives in Weymouth with his wife, Molly, and children John, Leo, and Maggie. They are members of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
