When asked to describe his senior shortstop Jordyn “Jo Jo” Carpenter, St. John Paul II softball coach Mike Manley said, “She’d play softball 24 hours a day if she could.”
And what if there were 25 hours in a day, she was asked?
“Then I’d definitely play 25,” she said, her infectious giggle punctuating her answer.
Carpenter loves softball; however, she is also a three-sport athlete at St. John Paul II.
Next year will find her attending Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia, where she will continue to play softball while also hoping to make bigger contributions to the world.
“I got recruited to play softball, but I’m going for biology,” she said. “It’s primarily a science school and their biology teacher is a leader in the field of cancer research.”
