St. John Paul II senior Colin Hatton, a Bourne native, likes to keep things loose while competing in athletics. But just because he likes to enjoy himself and holds a light-hearted approach between the lines, doesn’t mean Hatton doesn’t work hard.
The senior didn’t pick up a lacrosse stick until his freshman year at the Hyannis parochial school and will leave as a senior captain for the Lions’ lacrosse team.
“Up until then I had played baseball, ever since I could swing a bat. I figured lacrosse included the physicality of hockey, and the speed and sense of the field from soccer, which I played until my sophomore year; so it was a perfect time to pick it up as a change from baseball,” Hatton said.
