As far back as 2003, when the Cape Catholic high school group first stirred, he was there. Raising funds for the dream, attending meetings, talking it up, and believing in that which would take four years of dedicated work to achieve. He served on the first school Advisory Board and later experienced the school as a grandparent. He and his wife Monique are members of the Totus Tuus Society. Most of all, he was a friend.
David Crawford died on Wednesday. JPII and SFXP owes him a debt of gratitude and on behalf of the school community, I offer our condolences to his wife and family.
David would attend 7:30 AM morning Mass in the school’s Our Lady of Fatima Chapel. He was a faithful donor who frequently found ways to help the school well after its founding. Just a few weeks ago, he contacted me arranging a new donation. From before my arrival in 2005 to March, 2021, David Crawford was there. The Lord blessed the school with David’s kindness and support, and we are better for it.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
