St. John Paul II High School named Rich Dalrymple as the Lions’ Head Boys Basketball Coach, effective immediately. Dalrymple succeeds David Harrison, whose four-year, 55-19 record with the Lions included four consecutive MIAA Tournament berths and two Cape & Islands League championships.
“Coach Dalrymple is an experienced, high-quality coach who we are excited to bring to JPII. When he coached at CCA, we saw his dedication to building a tough, first-class program. His values and ours are a great fit,” said Mark Santos, JPII Athletic Director.
Dalrymple previously served as Head Coach at Sturgis, Cape Cod Academy, and Dennis-Yarmouth, where his teams earned six MIAA Tournament appearances and four league titles.
“I am excited to take charge of the JPII program, and I believe we have a solid core of high-character student-athletes. Having competed against the Lions in the past, I have always respected the team’s work ethic and character.” Dalrymple said.
“Coach Dalrymple brings strong character and leadership, proven coaching experience, and the desire to make our student-athletes better persons. These are the qualities that will lead our young men,” stated Chris Keavy, Head of School.
