Hyannis, MA, April 24, 2017 — St. John Paul II High School & St. Francis Xavier Preparatory School received a $25,000 grant to strengthen the school’s wi-fi network and enhance the digital opportunities students experience. This generous grant was provided by Mass Networks Education Partnership, Inc.
“This grant enables us to modernize our wireless network to better manage the heavy demand it currently experiences and will continue to experience for years to come. Reliable connectivity is vital in today’s educational environment, and this grant allows us to take a substantial step forward,” said Christopher W. Keavy, Head of School.
The Mass Networks Education Partnership grant, in conjunction with federal E-Rate funds and school monies, will allow the school to proceed with the expansive $65,162 project. Completion will ensure that the wireless infrastructure provides faster Internet access, properly-sized firewalls, more robust switches, and additional access points.
“Reliable and robust Wi-Fi infrastructure is required to support the school’s curricular initiatives including Blended Learning using High-Quality Digital Learning Content and the Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition (SAMR) model for integrating technology into teaching. The goal of these initiatives is to transform learning experiences, so they result in higher levels of achievement for our students. These important upgrades pave the way,” Keavy said.
