St. John Paul II High School sophomore Kristina Thimme wanted to do well in Monday’s inaugural Cape and Islands High School Girls Golf Championship at Kings Way Golf Club.
She certainly left her mark on the championship by shooting a 2-over-par 62 over the executive-style golf course. Her score was nine shots better than runner-up Emily Rodricks of Sturgis East and 10 better than third-place finisher Torrie Tamash of Barnstable High School.
Thimme set the women’s course record with her eye-popping round.
