St. John Paul II School is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Snow as the new Head Sailing Coach. Chris, a seasoned veteran in sail-making and sailing, brings extensive experience as a sailboat racer, achieving numerous continental championship victories in various classes. With a 29-year tenure at North Sails One Design, where he managed operations in North America, Chris not only excelled in racing but also contributed significantly to sail development for diverse boats. His competitive prowess extends to winning National and North American championships and making a mark in World Championships as both a skipper and crew member. Chris has actively participated in prestigious sailing competitions, including the SORC and major East Coast offshore races like Bermuda and Halifax.
Additionally, Chris is an accomplished sailboat racing coach and seminar leader, specializing in extracting top performance from teams and equipment. Beyond racing, he played a crucial role in Olympic campaigns and assisted individuals in enhancing their sailing skills for local competitions.
Chris is a coach for Warrior Sailing, a program of the USMMA Sailing Foundation, Inc. providing maritime education and outreach for wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans, and has volunteered as a Junior Program Adult advisor at the San Diego Yacht Club.

Chris and his wife Mary have two sons. Their elder son Patrick is an officer in the US Navy who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2017. Their younger son Nevin graduated from Georgetown in 2016 and has been training in the 49er class for the 2024 Olympics in Marseille, France Chris and Mary now live much of the year in N. Chatham. Chris looks forward to bringing the already successful sailing team to the next level and becoming part of the St. John Paul II community.
